Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation with silicone, which is one of the most frequently performed aesthetic operations today, increases the self-confidence of women and changes their psychology in a positive way. Silicone breast prostheses can be in different sizes and shapes. In the selection of the prosthesis that is suitable for you, your body structure, the thickness of your breast tissue and the dimensions you want it to be are taken into consideration. In this way, it is decided whether the prosthesis should be drop or round. Breast augmentation surgery does not affect the milk ducts, so there is no problem in breastfeeding. Silicone implants are placed under the muscle or under the muscle membrane by entering through a small incision around the nipple or under the breast.

The operation takes an average of 1 hour under general anesthesia.

You need to stay in the hospital for 1 night after the operation.

Your first control is done on the 3rd day of the operation and your last control is done on the 7th day. You can return to social life 1 week after the operation. Stretched and upright breasts in the early postoperative period will regain their natural appearance over time with the removal of edema. You should use the special bra worn after the operation for 1 month, and avoid heavy arm movements and heavy sports for 2 months.

What should be considered before the operation?

You should share all your expectations and concerns with your doctor. You should answer in detail the information you will be asked about your general health status, and inform your doctor about the diseases you have had and the medications you use. Factors affecting anesthesia such as blood thinners, vitamins, alcohol and smoking should be discontinued as of the date prescribed by your doctor.

Nothing should be drunk or eaten, including water, at least 6 hours before the operation time.

What should be known about anesthesia?
General anesthesia is a sleep period in which there is no awareness so that the patient does not feel pain and does not move during the operation. It can be applied to all patients regardless of age and gender.

Since it is personal, your anesthesiologist will evaluate your condition before the surgery according to the drugs you use, your diseases and your laboratory results. If you have received anesthesia in your previous surgeries, your past information will be questioned. Your circulatory and respiratory systems are checked. A fasting period of at least 6 hours is required before the operation. For the safety of these patients, it is important to avoid vomiting and aspiration.

You will be put to sleep by administering medication through the vascular access in general anesthesia. Since the drugs used are short-acting, their effects do not remain after the surgery. In general anesthesia, laryngeal mask can be used or intratracheal intubation can be applied. As a result, a sore throat may be felt after the surgery, although it is rare.

After the surgery, you are free to eat and drink after your consciousness and reflexes are restored.

Nausea and vomiting are common side effects of general anesthesia. On the other hand, anti-nausea drugs are given in the service.
