Arm Lift
Due to aging and frequent weight gain and loss, sagging in the arms may not be eliminated despite exercise. In such cases, if the current situation is an increase in fat in the area between the shoulder and elbow and secondarily a saggy image, a solution is possible with the "Vaser Liposuction" technique. In cases of advanced sagging, intervention with "Liposuction" may not be sufficient. The sagging skin is taken from the elbow to the underarm with an incision. If the sagging is not too much, a "Mini Arm Lift" operation is performed with a small incision under the armpit.
Mini arm lift operation takes about 1.5-2 hours under general anesthesia. 1 night hospital stay is required.
Classic arm lift operation is performed under general anesthesia and takes 2.5-3 hours on average. 1 night hospital stay is required.
On the 5th day of the operation, control and dressing are done. There may be numbness, edema and bruises in the early period, but they will all pass over time. You can return to social life within 1 week, but it is inconvenient to carry heavy loads and do heavy sports for 1 month. You should use the corset that is dressed after the operation for 4 weeks.
What should be considered before the operation?
You should share all your expectations and concerns with your doctor. You should answer in detail the information you will be asked about your general health status, and inform your doctor about the diseases you have had and the medications you use. Factors affecting anesthesia such as blood thinners, vitamins, alcohol and smoking should be discontinued as of the date prescribed by your doctor.
Nothing should be drunk or eaten, including water, at least 6 hours before the operation time.
What should be known about anesthesia?
General anesthesia is a sleep period in which there is no awareness so that the patient does not feel pain and does not move during the operation. It can be applied to all patients regardless of age and gender.
Since it is personal, your anesthesiologist will evaluate your condition before the surgery according to the drugs you use, your diseases and your laboratory results. If you have received anesthesia in your previous surgeries, your past information will be questioned. Your circulatory and respiratory systems are checked. A fasting period of at least 6 hours is required before the operation. For the safety of these patients, it is important to avoid vomiting and aspiration.
You will be put to sleep by administering medication through the vascular access in general anesthesia. Since the drugs used are short-acting, their effects do not remain after the surgery. In general anesthesia, laryngeal mask can be used or intratracheal intubation can be applied. As a result, a sore throat may be felt after the surgery, although it is rare.
After the surgery, you are free to eat and drink after your consciousness and reflexes are restored.
Nausea and vomiting are common side effects of general anesthesia. On the other hand, anti-nausea drugs are given in the service.
